Breast Implants in Seattle

Breast implants,
technically known as implants
mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure
to enhance the size and shape
of a woman's breast for a number
of reasons:
To enhance the body contour of a woman who, for
personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small.
To
correct a reduction in breast
volume after pregnancy.
To
balance a difference in breast
size.
As a reconstructive technique following breast
surgery.
By inserting an implant behind each breast, surgeons
are able to increase a woman's bustline by one
or more bra cup sizes. If you're considering
breast implants, this will give you a basic
understanding of the procedure--when it can help,
how it's performed, and what results you can
expect. It can't answer all of your questions,
since a lot depends on your individual circumstances.
Please ask your surgeon if there is anything
you don't understand about the procedure.

Patient 2 - Breast Implants with Nipple Reduction
While breast feeding she developed protruberant
nipples, which she wanted reduced. The only scar
is around the base of the nipple, where it is
virtually invisible. She has normal sensation
and is very pleased with her result.
Age: 45 year old woman
with 2 children
Procedure: The procedure
was done by removing a ring
of skin from around the base
of the nipple. The areolar
skin was undermined to gain
access to place the implants
under the muscle, through the
same incision.
Implants: Smooth round
saline, 250 cc filled to 275.
Estimated cup size change: Small

Patient 4 - Breast Implants
Her small chest and tight skin would make it
essentially impossible to place a large enough
implant. For this reason an expandable implant
(Spectrum saline implant) was placed. This implant
has a special port positioned under the skin
near the implant, into which injections of saline
solution are placed every couple of weeks. This
enables the skin and muscle layer to be gradually
expanded until the desired final size is reached.
It also allows for some flexibility in deciding
on the final fill volume. Once the expansions
are done, usually after 2 or 3 months, the fill
ports are removed under local anesthesia. This
requires that the incision be placed at the bottom
of the breast rather than periareolar or axillary. |
