Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast for a number of reasons:

•To enhance the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small.

•To correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy.

•To balance a difference in breast size.
As a reconstructive technique following breast surgery.

A natural appearing breast augmentation result requires balancing a number of factors. The size of the implant is of course an important consideration, but the right base diameter is what helps create natural cleavage, without a wide space between the breasts or having them too close together. My most commonly used technique is the split submuscular/subfascial method, which provides good coverage but minimizes the chances of distortion with muscle activity which can occur with the most popularly used submuscular method.
